West Plains Engineering provided mechanical and electrical studies to determine upgrades and improvements to The Manuel Brothers Park in Lead, SD. The park, which is named after the gold miners who first staked the Homestake gold claim in 1876, is located near the famous Open Cut Mine. The park includes shelters, public restrooms, parking lot, playground, basketball and tennis courts and a horseshoe pit. It is popular with residents and tourists alike, including hosting the city’s annual 4th of July fireworks display and Winterfest Bonfire.
West Plains reviewed all interior and exterior lighting schemes for the space, as well as HVAC and plumbing systems and made recommendations for upgrades to support future growth and development.
