Roosevelt Park Indoor Pool Complex | Rapid City, SD
West Plains Engineering provided mechanical and electrical design services for the new Roosevelt Park Indoor Recreation Center at Rapid City. The facility design included a base bid area of 45,575 square feet that included a 25-yard x 8 lane competition swimming pool, recreational pool with slide and other water play features, racquetball courts, game room, concession area, aerobics workout room, and miscellaneous offices and support areas. The design also included a bid alternate of 26,637 square feet that included two full basketball courts, upper-level indoor running track, daycare space, two large meeting rooms, a lounge, cardio work area, and weight room.
Our team was responsible for the design of mechanical systems including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and fire protection. The electrical design includes lighting systems, power distribution, communications and fire alarm systems. The mechanical and electrical systems were designed with maximum flexibility to allow the building to operate under a diverse schedule, and utilizes energy efficient systems to maintain lower operating costs.
