Port of Entry & Maintenance Complex | Sundance, WY

The Wyoming Department of Transportation added a major complex in Sundance, which was constructed over 3 phases to accommodate schedules and budget.

Phase 1 included a new 1,260 square foot Port of Entry building, and relocation of the existing scales. 

Phase 2 provided for the construction of a new 18,445 square foot maintenance and shop building. The maintenance area included 7 drive thru bays with trench drains and sand/oil interceptor. The shop included 3 drive thru bays with trench drains and sand/oil interceptor, as well as a wash bay, truck lift and rail mounted crane system. The building also included four offices, break room, two tools and parts storage rooms, janitors closet and restrooms. The project also provided a new 6,000 gallon above-ground unleaded fuel tank with dispenser and associated fuel monitoring system.

Phase 3 involved the remodel of the existing 11,850 square foot maintenance and shop building, including 2,670 square feet of existing office space, and converting 2,845 square feet of maintenance bay area into additional offices. This space included room for Driver’s Services, Wyoming Highway Patrol, conference room, break room and space for WYDOT Engineers and Construction staff. 

Campus-wide work included a new Propane Tank Farm that served all buildings, as well as the 2 new generators.
