Swine Research Facility | Brookings, SD

This new 48,600 square foot swine research facility at SDSU includes three separate buildings: a Sow Teaching and Intensive Research Complex, On-Site Wean-to-Finish Research Barn, and an Off-Site Wean-to-Finish Production Barn. 

The facility supports the University’s 150-swine operation and serves as the center of the teaching, research, and extension activities for the SDSU swine program. It includes a 50-seat modern classroom with portable pens, public viewing windows, a surgical suite, a boar collection room, a physiology room, farrowing rooms, gestation room, and other animal holding/raising areas. 

All the buildings included cutting edge testing, research, and automatic feeding equipment.
