The new $16 million South Dakota National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility Readiness Center recently earned a LEED Silver certification for design and construction. The project earned all but one of the attempted credits, a testament to the building and system performance.
West Plains Engineering provided mechanical and electrical engineering design, working with Coover-Clark Architects out of Denver. The Readiness Center was completed in 2021, is approximately 58,700 squafe feet and serves 163 National Guard personnel.
Several creative measures were taken with both the mechanical and electrical design to improve sustainability and reduce energy consumption. Click below to read the full project narrative, or to view our full list of LEED certified projects.
