This $35 million K-12 school in western Minnesota features more than 150,000 square feet of classrooms, offices, kitchen, competition gymnasium, practice gymnasium, locker rooms, science classrooms, music rooms, art room, wood/metal shop, and a performance auditorium/theater.

The project features cutting-edge electrical and mechanical systems designed with energy efficiency in mind. 

Electrical Systems:

– New LED lighting with occupancy and daylighting controls
– Strategic placement of electrical rooms and information technology rooms
– Low-voltage systems, including voice-evacuation fire alarm, data cabling, and video surveillance

Mechanical Systems:

– Energy-efficient heating and cooling systems with chilled beam terminal units and dedicated outside air system (DOAS) air handling units
– Energy recovery and enthalpy wheels to maximize energy recovery
– Demand ventilation with indoor air quality/CO2 sensors
– High-efficiency boilers and air-cooled chiller
– Dry cooler for cooling water during favorable outside air temperatures

Controls and Integration:

– Direct digital controls and graphics system for easy operation, scheduling, and maintenance of all equipment
– Integration with specialty exhaust systems for wood/metal shop, science hoods, range, and kitchen systems.
