The Alburnett Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1929 and serves a population of approximately 2,400 citizens across a 36-mile area. To continue meeting the demands of the more than 100 calls for service it receives annually, the department built a new 7,500 square foot facility, which features 5 apparatus bays, a training room, a kitchen, Chief’s office, radio room, bathrooms, and a laundry room.

The vehicle areas have a cross-flow ventilation design consisting of outdoor air intake louvers and exhaust fans, with CO/NO2 detection. Support areas are served by gas furnaces with exterior condensing units.

The electrical design included standard interior lighting, electrical devices, power distribution, security/access control systems, and voice/data/CATV cabling. The electrical distribution also considered the potential for a future backup generator.
