City of Sioux City Animal Control Shelter
City of Sioux City | Sioux City, IA
West Plains Engineering provided mechanical and electrical services for the City of Sioux City to replace the existing Animal Control Facility. This building uses high efficiency roof top units with an energy recovery wheel mounted on the ground. We paid particular attention to the air changes per hour of the kennel areas to keep odors out of the offices. Lighting on the project was primarily 32W T8 fluorescent fixtures and vaportites were used in the animal areas, with recessed indirect lighting in the halls, office and reception area. Occupancy sensors and a relay panel with time clock were used for automatic control of the lighting. There was also a FOB reader system installed for perimeter access to the building and a camera system for additional security.
