Fire Station #3 | Casper, WY

West Plains Engineering worked with GSG Architecture in 2011 on a new fire station in Casper, WY. The facility is located in a mixed-use area near both commercial and residential spaces and as such, was designed to aesthetically blend and enhance the neighborhood.

The state-of-the-art building includes radiant heat, vehicle exhaust systems, comprehensive data, and fire alarm, as well as the inclusion of two modular 130kW generators that operate in parallel to provide power in the event of a Utility outage. The generators are capable of operating on either natural gas or propane with automatic switchover in the event of a natural gas outage. Two new underground propane tanks are included in the design and are sized for approximately five days of backup under full load conditions.
