Pierre Regional Airport

Upgrades & Renovations | Pierre, SD

West Plains Engineering has been involved in a number of projects for the City of Pierre at the Pierre Regional Airport. Projects include:

Terminal Construction
Replace Taxiway ā€˜Aā€™ Lighting (LED)
Emergency Power Upgrades
Apron Security Lighting
Taxiway ā€˜Cā€™ Reconstruction

Our largest project to date was a new airport terminal building, which serves both private and commercial flights.

All of our systems were specifically designed to comply with LEED requirements for conservation and energy. Notably, this included a geothermal system, low flow and high efficiency plumbing and an automatic fire suppression system. Electrically, T8 lamps and ballasts were used to reduce electrical energy usage, and a lighting control panel provides automatic control to turn lights on or off by programming.

Important for the airline industry, the facility includes a video surveillance camera system along with a door access into private areas, assuring top-level security. A public address system also interfaces with the phone system, and the communications system is connected utilizing CAT6 cabling tied back to a main communications room.
