Soldiers & Sailors Building Renovations | Pierre, SD
The Soldiers & Sailors World War Memorial is both architecturally and historically significant to the State of South Dakota. Designed in the 1930s by Wilford F. Blatherwick and John C. Hugill, the building was constructed as a memorial to service members who fought in World Wars I and II. Today, it continues its legacy as both a memorial, as well as home to the South Dakota Department of Military and Veteran Affairs.
This major renovation to the building began as an HVAC replacement. But after the initial design kickoff meeting, the Owner decided to broaden the scope to include replacement of the entire plumbing system, as well as lighting upgrades, and structural and architectural sub-consultants to assist with securing the entrance.
